Everyone has a thinking problem. It's what you think that decides how you feel. You have no problems. It's only the way you think about things. MindBuddy seeks to give you the tools to be free from incessessant and negative thinking. Your mind should not control your life. You control your life. Let's take it back.
MindBuddy seeks to amalgamate life strategies from the great thinkers of our time. We offer you a way to capture your own journey online, that is always available to you. Many of the current life strategist provide theoretical resources but leave it up to you to work out your own journey. We want to be beside you. To prompt you to do the actual work. To see the fruits of your labour.
Link to Mind pageSet a goal that you are absolutely passionate about achieving. What do you really want in or for your life right now? What would get you up in the morning and keep you up at night? Let's set that goal, and then we will work to acheive it. You will feel amazing and inspired that you CAN do this.
In my life, in my formative years, I had three very clear goals that I knew I wanted to acheive. I really believed that I wanted them without any doubt. I also believed I WOULD achieve them. I also knew I would do ANYTHING it took to achieve them. I was absoltuely certain and committed to achieveing them. These goals were at the forefront of my mind, and as I look back now, I didn't realise then, everthing I did in my life (study, work, play) was to get these end goals.
My three goals were: Never work a 9-5 rat race job. Get my PhD (how cool I thought it would be to be called a doctor!). Find genuine love with a life-long partner. By the age of 32, I had achieved all three.
So, get out there. Set your passion goals. Then do whatever it takes, and you WILL acheive it.
The first rule of success is to have a vision. Rule number two: don't listen to the nay-sayers. (Arnold Schwarzenegger)
It always seems impossible until it's done. (Nelson Mandela)
"When you follow your inspirations and intuition, you grow in self-worth and potential, as well as toward your true capabilities. It's important to follow your vision, intuition, and inspiration so you can achieve what you're here to accomplish in life." (p.1)
Everything in your life happens for you.
Have a cause bigger than you.
Let's do this together. I'm about to embark on a journey to see if any of these life strategies actually work. I invite you to join me too. I want you to set your goals as you see me set my own. I want you to follow with me, on your own path, and let's see if we can actually achieve your life and business ambitions.
Here's my life ambitions/visions:
To achieve anything, you must do something. All big plans can be chunked down to small milestones. Write down all the small milestones that you can achieve EVERY day, that you're 100% committed to.
Collect pictures or drawings of what you precisely envisage. Keep them in a Goals or Visualisation Book (or file on your computer/phone).
To answer this question, first make a list of things that you thoroughly, absolutely do like to do. At the same time, make a list of things that you do NOT like to do. Write a sentence or two next to each to remind you (or make explict to yourself) why you do or do not like doing each of these things. Note what you are feeling inside when you write your reason. Does it ignite something in you? Make you more sure of your passion? Make you feel like you never want to do that thing ever again?
Here's mine:
I do like: | Reason |
---|---|
Researching | I could easily spend hours learning more and reading because it's not difficult for me to do and at the same time I am expanding my understanding about a range of topics that tickle my fancy. |
Teaching | When I teach passionately, I adore the command/engagment I get from students, and knowing that I'm impacting their lives. I remember when I was a physics teacher, how I taught with such passion. As a lecturer, I loved the large auditorium and feeling absolutely confident that I was a great teacher, and the students adored me. In both, I had magnificient student reviews, and that supported me reassured and love it even more. |
Learning | I absolutely love learning about all sorts of topics. I love trying new things and learning as much as I can about them, even if I lose interest them after a short while. For example, I loved painting portraiture so I learnt about oils, canvas, techniques. I loved losing weight, so I learnt all I could about food, weightloss, calories, nutrition, excercise, etc. |
Learning and writing code in all languages | I love coding. It is rational. It does exactly what I tell it to do. It doesn't speak back or critise me. It has the ability to bring to life amazing channels of communication to the world. |
Travelling | I get exited travelling to new (and some old) places. There's so many wonderfully different cultures that do things very differently to my own. It's inspiring. I love different climates too, in winter, I love the snow and warm fireplaces, and hot, hearty meals. In summer, I'd love to scuba dive in tropical reefs and eat banquets of seafood. |
Hiking | Hiking is so peaceful. It puts my mind at ease and I truly feel at one with nature. It's a form of meditation. When I'm hiking, I can't do anything else - no work, no immediate stress - just a wonderful way for me to truly relax. |
Talking with people | I get truly inspired when people talk to me about their issues. I love giving sound advice and it is my intense desire that it will have a profound effect in their lives. |
I do NOT like: | Reason |
---|---|
Having to do grunt work | I don't want to put in effort if there's no reward or if the reward is unknown if it will mannifest. Maybe I can outsource this and I'm better off just being a manager? |
Designing websites and writing copy | I hate designing the aesthetics of a website and writing engaging copy. I'm a perfectionist, so I just don't know where to begin or what to write as I have many ideas but I just don't know which ones are the best ones to put down. And when I have eventually decided, I don't trust that it will work. |
What I would LOVE to do | Possible Business/Career that will pay me |
---|---|
Teaching | Sell online courses or do live presentations on self-mastery. Organise conferences on STEM education. |
Learning/Research | Synthesise and develop online and physical material as courses or products or servies to sell. |
Hiking | Run hiking/walking tours around the world. |
Writing Code | Code software for websites. Utilise my coding knowledge in developing my own online business. |
Travelling | Hiking/walking tours around the world. Running physical seminars around the world. |
Talking with people | Online or live seminars or consultations providing life mastery advice and skills. |
I selected to develop a weight loss business to work on that I had previously created but never really articulated. I had an inspiration a few months ago, back in February 2021, when I began my own weight-loss journey needs, to develop a calorie tracking or weight-loss tool. It just felt right to call it WeightBuddy. (I also thought back then, that a family of "Buddy" domains related to other aspects of the human condition might be cool too. So, I purchased them too. Maybe I'll work on them later after WeightBuddy.)
Do you have to be certified or trained to become an expert in your field? No. You don't. Anyone can learn at any time about their chosen field. Did Einstein have a degree in philosophy? Yet, he won a Nobel Peace prize. Did president X finish high school?
Karoshi - working/stress creates/manifests physical diseases such as stroke and heart attacks.
There are only two forms of stress, according to JD. 1) The perception of loss of that which you seek and 2) the perception of gain of that which you try to avoid. The Buddah said: The desire for that which is unavailable. unavoidable and the desire to avoid that which is unavoidable are the two forms of suffering.
Don't ask yourself how can I afford to go on vacation. Ask yourself how can I get PAID to go on vacation? (JD)

27 May 2021 | Came across Dr John Demartini today by accident on YouTube. After watching, I thought, "Who is this guy? Why have I never heard of him? He seems brilliant!" His stuff was immediately relevent to me. It resonated with me in ways beyond other life coaches that I had read or followed. I watched perhaps a dozen of his short Youtube videos. I felt connected. I went to his website to learn more. After learning about his books, without hesitation, I downloaded two of his seminal books, The Breakthrough Experience and The Values Factor. I began reading The Breakthrough Experience immediately, and it wowed me. I coudln't put it down. I read it for the rest of the day and night. I took breaks to reflect, and also found time to do my first online Value Determination. I felt as though I'd finaly found something that I was onto something life-changing. I went to bed fully comforted for the first time in years. | |
28-30 May 2021 | Spent the next few days reading The Breakthrough Experience. Methodically, I went through every part, pausing and reflecting and recording the things that stood out for me. I re-did my Value Determination again on paper now that I had learned more about values. When I finished The Breakthrough Experience, I thought it was amazing and the wisdom on its pages rung true. I went on meditative walks each of these days, seeking or letting it come to me, just what is my purpose? What are my true values? What are my inspired goals? What am I so passionate about that I could do everyday for the rest of my life? What would get me out of bed early and make me stay up late? Frustratingly, the answer didn't come to me. I couldn't articulate whether the values I had written were true values that would stick with me for the rest of my life. And I had no idea business-wise, what I could do, although I definately knew I "had" to run a business if I were to further my wealth goals. I also paid attention, in both books, to Demartini's view on business building, and at various times throughout the days and at night, I'd listen to his podcasts on that topic. I took copious notes. It all made practical sense. I just didn't feel it. I was still lost. | |
31 May 2021 | I re-examined my Value Determination again today (for the third time!) after I spent the day listening to the Application of Values for Achievement course by Demartini, and reading much of his book, The Values Factor. I am still confused as to whether my top two values of wealth/business building and health are my true life values or if they are transient values, or if indeed, they are values at all. Perhaps, they are masks for other intrinsic values I have that I have not yet labelled? I also don't know my life's goals, and I can't think of any that may fit my top four values, as they currently stand, of wealth/business building, health, relaxation and fulfillment. I also started to construct my own list of what I like to do and what I don't like to do. I rediscovered that I thoroughly enjoyed teaching and researching. I'm not sure how these relate to my values or goals yet though. Tonight, as I lay to sleep, and after my gratitude reflection, I will scour YouTube for Demartini vidoes on finding goals. | |
1 June 2021 | Wow! What an intense morning! Upon waking, it dawned on me (no pun intended!) that I immediately knew what my values and goals now were. Researching, teaching, wealth building, health and relaxation! I realised that I love teaching! I love researching! And that, actually many of my answers for my Value Determination could be relablled as research or teaching rather than wealth or health. Demartini said in a podcast I listened to last night, that you KNOW what you want to ultimately do with your life. And if you don't, it's because you have fear or something masking it, trying to make you deny what you truly want. And this morning, it struck me like a freight train. I know EXACTLY what I want to do and how I can achieve it. He was right! What an incredible breakthrough! I truly want to serve vast numbers of people through education on health, wealth and mental well-being. I knew it all along but never articulated it! In fact, I had even (unwittingly and without much more thought than an idea at the time) bought domain names for websites I MIGHT develop, earlier this year back in February. They were: weightbuddy.life, mindbuddy.life, wealthbuddy.life and others. I now know I want and will become a life strategist. I have undergone my own intense transformation journey over the last several years and it is not over yet. Today, I am unleashed to become. I didn't realise then, that over the last few years since my initial "incident" that I had put all my effort in seeking to help myself, that it could in fact help others too. I was so excited about my breakthrough that I told my partner that I knew what I loved to do and what I would do about it. He said to me that he knew that all along! That my passion was teaching and research! And he reminded me, how excited I was when I came home each day to tell him what I had done in class or in my lectures. So, today, I am reborn. Today, I will spend time visualising and re-mastering my life's journey. How exciting. | |
2 June 2021 | Woke up today with a bit of self doubt. Am I onto the right path here? Spent the rest of yesterday reading the Values Factor and watching Demartini videos. Got to the question, what do you truly love to do and how could I get paid handsomely for doing it? If my true values are wealth building and to never work 9-5 again, is it ok just to say that I'd love to own multiple businesses? Do I have to have passion for the particular niches they are in? Yesterday, I purchased the Breakthrough Experience online live course that will run on 3-4 July 2021. Let's hope this gives me more clarity. ... It's early evening. I was about to go on my walk, and I just had a moment of clarity. I paused while putting on my socks. I had just put down reading The Values Factors, and I saw on my coffee table, A New Earth and Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway. It just reminded me to do just that. Yeah, I think I do want to help others for the rest of my life. Surely, I can do that each day for the rest of my life. I can see it now truly fulfilling my highest values. I get to teach, research/learn, travel, be inspired and have fun. Cool. I feel inherently at peace. At this moment, I have no problems. I have no urge to drink either. Cool. Change is happening within me. Yay! | |
3 June 2021 | Overnight, I read more from The Values Factor, in fact, after reading the relationship chapter, I went back and re-read chapter 1. I had far greater understanding this time of the words in that first chapter. Now, they made complete sense to me. I had thought I had understood on my first read through but now I REALLY understood. I absolutely know that my highest value is to NEVER work 9-5pm and NEVER work for someone else again, and that I am INSPIRED to run my own business to build wealth. I know this with absolute CERTAINTY. However, I was struggling to get WeightBuddy going. I wasn't sure if it is my true passion and if I could sustain my interest in it for the rest of my life. Then, I understood from Chapter 1 that if I don't LOVE it, that there's any doubt that is is indeed NOT high on my values. Ah, what relief. So, while I'm certain of creating a business, and one that serves vast numbers of people, I just have to align my goals to that value. That is, I have to link all the benefits of how a particular business serves my highest value of wealth building. At the the moment my business ideas are to create a business or businesses that genuinely help the human condition. So, weight/health, mind(psychology and spirtuality) and wealth (personal and business) are my current goals. So, while the end goal might be to combine these all as one self-mastery business, I will first start "having a good hot go" at building a business that I had already started - WeightBuddy. I totally align with this business because I built it for me! I am currently building it and using it for me, and so why not, share it with others! So, that's it. That's my life plan starting from today. Build WeightBuddy into a behmoth. Concurrently (only if I get time), continue idea building for Mind and Wealth Buddy. Make sure I make actual action steps EVERY DAY toward WeightBuddy and my own health/fitness (eat around 800 cal a day, exercise and reach a minimum of 10,000 steps a day while in our 4th Lockdown here in Victoria). |

4 June 2021 | Didn't get as much as I expected done from my action list yesterday. I knocked some off, which felt fantastic, but I got obsessed and overestimated the time required for others. Will shift them to today's list. Felt overwhelmed in the morning when looking at my competitors. How can I add more value and innovation than them to my weight loss business. Went for a long walk to stay postive. Later that afternoon, I just smashed out a whole bunch of ways I could innovate! Felt so much better! Yay! I perserved and I found it very helpful to write a list of any "projected frustation or difficulty" I could imagine that I felt my competitors were doing that I could never do with my current resources. Then, I just wrote possible solutions to each or ways of working around it. Then I could see it was possible! I don't have to copy my competitors, I have to do what they are NOT doing. I came up with a few good ideas (I think!). Update: They psychologist I contacted agreed to help me. Yay! His advice to keep in mind: don't "tell" people information. Let people come to their own understandings/conclusions. I can start now. I don't know everything but nothing I do will harm you. |
